Whenever you think of a woman, do you expect her to be good at cooking, kitchen and all? Well, mostly it is assumed that women are good at cooking. Let’s throw some light on this typical stereotype in this article.

After all, we all have seen that from ancient times, women were supposed to be at home, taking care of their husbands, children, and family. Her education was considered important. She used to be at home. All important decisions of the family were taken by men, who used to have power in the house. Due to this, the woman was degraded, she was hidden in the house without any power of her own decisions. This was very unfair behavior with women.

Cooking is an art. In the modern era, people have no problem if their boy is not good at cooking or if he doesn’t even know cooking at all. On the other hand, cooking is considered the most important thing for girls to learn. We never expect men to cook, take care of the household chores. We expect it from women. Men were supposed to go out, work from the office and earn for them. Like this, there are numerous other stereotypes still existing. But slowly, society, the people have also started to develop understanding.

Apart from the existence of these conceptions, we do see men who are chefs, better at cooking. They do face problems from society and they hear, “It’s not supposed to be your job”. And there are women who are working, studying, managing everything on their own and some they don’t know how to cook. The girls who don’t know how to cook get ashamed by society.

Why do we cook? We feel hungry and need to eat. We can’t live without food, it’s our basic need. So, shouldn’t we all learn to cook for ourselves? Shouldn’t we all not depend on anyone else for making the food? Why should we give the responsibility to someone else? We should be responsible, dependent on ourselves for making food. It will benefit you in the long run. Also, never forget to thank those who make food for you.
