Indian film producer Guneet Monga, best known for her critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies, has recently shared why this year’s Baisakhi holds a special place in her heart. The festival, which holds significance for the entire country, will be particularly memorable for her.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Monga revealed that this Baisakhi is extra special to her as she is now married and has an Oscar. Additionally, her parents-in-law will be joining her this year, making the festival even more meaningful.

Monga reminisced about her childhood and how her parents instilled in her the importance of sewa (selfless service) during Baisakhi. She remembers making simple yet delicious food at home and distributing it to people. “The day is all about gratitude,” she said.

Baisakhi has always been an essential part of Monga’s life, and she would visit the gurdwara, even if she was away from home. She shared an anecdote about being in Goa and choosing to visit a gurdwara instead of partying with her friends.

Apart from producing films, Monga is also the founder of Sikhya Entertainment, a production house that focuses on content-driven movies. She is also a strong advocate for women’s rights and gender equality in India.

This Baisakhi, Monga is looking forward to spending time with her loved ones and continuing the tradition of sewa. Her story serves as a reminder of the importance of gratitude, selflessness, and family values, especially during festivals like Baisakhi.
