Ms. Donzella Washington- At 80 yrs she graduates from Alabama A&M University
Ms. Donzella Washington made history by becoming the oldest person to graduate from Alabama A&M University. At 80 years of age, she earned her bachelor’s degree in social work.
Not only did she graduate magna cum laude, but she also received a 4.0 GPA. Having a degree in social work was her dream since she graduated from high school in 1957.
“My mission is to inspire others by letting them know, like the mayor said, age is just a number,” she said. “Whatever dreams you had as a child, you can still obtain them. It’s all within you to reach your goal.”
Congratulations to Ms. Donzella, who is a true inspiration! This just goes to show that it is never too late to pursue your dreams.
