President Droupadi Murmu embarked on a significant visit to Jharkhand, symbolizing a blend of spirituality, women empowerment, and judicial progress. In a special homage to faith, the President paid her respects at the revered Baba Baidyanath temple in Deoghar district. The temple, one of the 12 ‘jyotirlingas,’ witnessed her participation in sacred rituals guided by a team of priests amidst heightened security measures.

With her arrival at the Deoghar airport, Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan warmly welcomed the President. This visit marks her second since assuming office, as she engages in a three-day itinerary throughout the state. The President’s Secretariat revealed that she would inaugurate the new complex of Jharkhand High Court, grace a Women Conference organized by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs in Khunti, and participate in the 2nd convocation of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Ranchi.

On May 24, President Murmu will inaugurate the new High Court building in Ranchi, a sprawling architectural marvel spanning 165 acres. Constructed at a cost of Rs 550 crore, the building solidifies Jharkhand’s commitment to judicial development. The President will also address a convention of women associated with Self Help Groups (SHG) in Khunti, championing women’s empowerment and showcasing their achievements. Additionally, she will grace the IIIT-Ranchi convocation, encouraging young minds in the field of information technology.
