Strategies to find the best-suited color for your complexion

Have you ever been perplexed while deciding on a clothing color? Which color should I go with while dying my hair? Didn’t we all, at one point or another? It’s natural to wonder about such things. And getting answers to these questions is critical because we never want to wear neutral colors, but ones that enhance our complexion.

Finding the perfect colors can give you a gorgeous glow, yet an incorrect color palette might make you look sallow and fatigued. It’s easy once you understand the tricks and tips. Color analysis is a proven way to answer the question: “Which color compliments me?” by determining which garment colors and makeup tones match a person’s natural glow, eye color, and hair color.

A few tests are listed below that can help us establish whether our skin tone is warm, cold, or neutral.

1. White paper check

Place a clean white piece of paper near your face. Then pay attention to the contrast between your face and the paper. Before you begin, make sure your face is clean of makeup and cream, and if you have just washed your face, wait at least 15 minutes for the redness to fade. If your complexion contains greenish, light brown, golden, or yellow undertones, you have a warm skin tone. You have a cool skin tone if your undertone is pink, rosy, or blue. You have a neutral skin tone if your face seems grey or ashen.

2. The vein examination

This can also be determined by the hue of our veins. If your veins appear blue or purple, it signifies that you have a cool skin tone. If it has a greenish tint, then you have warm skin. You are neutral if you are unable to choose between the two.

3. The sunburn experiment

People with an olive complexion who tan easily have warm skin tones. People with fair skin who sunburn in the sun are typically cold. If you’re undecided, you could belong to either group.

Now that we have established our skin tone, let’s discuss the color that brings out our natural glow.

Warm-skinned folks could wear:

Warm colors like oranges, golden yellow, caramel gold, and shades of red will highlight your golden hues. More generous greens and blues, such as darker aquamarine, green sphagnum, olive, and crimson in magenta and orchid tints, can also be used. Beige, hot chocolate, cream pastels, and latte are all neutrals that will make your skin shine. Cold colors and jewel-toned tones, such as ruby, amethyst, and sapphire, should be avoided.

For those with a calm skin tone:

Bright blue, ocean blue, sapphire, emerald, amethyst, deep purples, lavender, and lilac snow are your most pleasing hues. Warm colors such as shades of pink, cerise, ruby, and vivid rose, on the other hand, should not be forgotten. Grey, azure, and dazzling white are your neutral colors but resist shades of orange and yellow.

For persons with a neutral complexion:

Wearing jade green, soft pink, turquoise blue, and cornsilk yellow will make you stand out in a crowd. Off-whites, coffee, mid-range grays, and black are perfect neutral colors. On the other hand, overly bright and intense colors will overwhelm you.
