A Woman’s Resilience: After 17 Years of Abduction, She Finds Freedom in Delhi

In a remarkable turn of events, a 32-year-old woman, who was kidnapped 17 years ago, has been found in Delhi’s Gokalpuri, finally reuniting with her freedom. This story sheds light on her journey from captivity to liberation, giving voice to her harrowing experience and unwavering strength.

The breakthrough occurred on May 22, when the Seemapuri police station, acting on a tip-off, successfully located the woman who had been missing since 2006. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shahdara Rohit Meena confirmed the news, emphasizing the significance of this long-awaited discovery.

During the investigation, the woman courageously shared her tale of abduction. She revealed that she had been taken from her home in 2006 and initially lived with a man named Deepak in Cherdih village, situated in Uttar Pradesh’s Balia district. However, due to a dispute, she fled Deepak’s residence during the Covid-19 lockdown and eventually found refuge in Delhi’s Gokalpuri, where she rented a place.
