PV Sindhu to face An Se Young in Badminton Asia Championships quarter-final
India’s two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu is set to take on South Korea’s An Se Young in the women’s singles quarter-final at the Badminton Asia Championships 2023 in Dubai.
PV Sindhu secured her spot in the last eight after beating Han Yue of China in straight sets in the second round. However, her opponent in the quarter-final, Se Young, has defeated Sindhu in all their previous five encounters, making for a challenging match. Se Young reached the quarter-finals with a straight games win against Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand. The winner of the Sindhu vs An Se Young match will face the winner of Gregoria Mariska Tunjung (Indonesia) vs Chen Yu Fei (China) in the semi-final.
The match is fourth in the order of play on court 2 and is expected to start after 4:30 PM IST on Friday (April 28). Fans in India can watch the match live on Sony Sports TEN 2 channels or live stream it on the Sony LIV app or website from 2:30 PM IST.
