Eva Green Wins Court Battle Against Production Company Over Abandoned Film

Hollywood actress Eva Green has emerged victorious in her lawsuit against White Lantern Films and SMC Speciality Finance over a million-dollar fee promised to her for an abandoned sci-fi movie called A Patriot. The 42-year-old actress had filed the lawsuit in October 2019, seeking the promised fee despite the shelving of the movie. However, the production house filed a counter-claim against Green, alleging that she pulled out of the film and breached her contract.

In a recent ruling, Justice Michael Green dismissed the counter-claim and ruled in Green’s favor, stating that she was entitled to the fee. Reacting to the judgment, the actress expressed her satisfaction, saying that she had stood up to a small group of men who tried to use her as a scapegoat to cover up their mistakes.

Green also spoke out against the media, stating that a few people in the press were too happy to reprint lies without proper reporting. She added that the media enjoyed tearing women to pieces, and her desire to make the best possible film was made to look like female hysteria.

During the trial, Max Mallin KC, representing White Lantern and SMC, alleged that Green had refused to perform, but Justice Michael Green did not believe any of the defendants’ witnesses truly considered that Green had withdrawn her services from the film. The judge added that the allegation against Green was “based on false evidence” from witnesses.
