Twitter owner Elon Musk recently announced that he has found a new CEO to helm the social media giant he bought last year. Linda Yaccarino, the head of advertising of NBC Universal, is said to be in the race to become the next Twitter CEO, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. Musk’s tweet announcing the news has triggered a frenzy of speculation on possible candidates.

As per her LinkedIn profile, Yaccarino has been with NBC Universal since 2011 and is currently the chairperson of global advertising and partnerships. She has also served as the company’s cable entertainment and digital advertising sales division. Yaccarino had previously worked at Turner for 19 years, where her last role was Executive Vice President/COO Advertising Sales, Marketing, and Acquisitions. She is an alumna of Penn State University, having studied liberal arts and telecommunications.

Yaccarino has been an industry advocate of finding better ways to measure the effectiveness of advertising. She has reportedly told her friends in the past that she wanted to become the CEO of Twitter and is a supporter of Musk, believing that the billionaire needs time to turn the company around.
