Hong Kong’s cricket captain, Kary Chan, achieved a historic milestone by setting the record for the highest individual score in the history of the Asian Games. Chan’s exceptional performance helped Hong Kong secure a resounding victory over Mongolia, winning by a staggering margin of 180 runs and securing a spot in the quarter-finals.

In a remarkable display of batting prowess, Hong Kong posted a record-breaking score of 202 runs, marking the team’s highest-ever total in T20 cricket. This impressive achievement also stands as a Games record.

As a result of their emphatic win during the 19th Asian Games, Hong Kong earned a spot in the quarter-finals. Notably, their victory allowed them to avoid facing formidable opponents like India and Pakistan in the next round. Instead, they will compete against Bangladesh in the quarter-finals, scheduled for Friday, September 22.

Under the guidance of coach Andy Cottam, the Hong Kong cricket team advanced to the last eight with a crucial victory in their qualification match. They not only scored a remarkable 202 runs but also limited Mongolia to a mere 22 runs.

Captain Kary Chan played a pivotal role in this triumph by scoring an outstanding 70 runs, setting a new record for the highest individual score by a batter in the history of the women’s tournament. The previous record of 63 runs was held by Japan’s Ema Kuribayashi, achieved in 2010 against Nepal.
