Woman’s Unusual Bedroom Rule
A Reddit user, u/ResponsibleWinter758, shared a story about an interesting revenge she took on her parents for their different rules regarding relationships when she was growing up. The user, a 25-year-old woman, explained that while her brothers were allowed to have their girlfriends spend the night in the spare room once they turned 16, she was never allowed to have her boyfriend stay overnight, even when she was 18.
Later in life, when she got engaged to her now-fiancé, her parents maintained the same rule until a few months after the engagement. Feeling irritated and wanting to make a point, she decided to give her parents a taste of their own medicine when they came to visit her.
When her parents asked to be shown to their room for the night, the user directed her mother to one guest room and her stepfather to another. She explained to them that, just like her mother used to tell her, it was her house, and she didn’t want them sharing a bed in her house.
She concluded by telling them that it didn’t matter because it was her house, and her decision was final. The post on Reddit gained over 14.6 thousand upvotes and various comments supporting the user’s humorous revenge on her parents for their previous rules.
