Antim Panghal Takes Silver and Anshu Malik Bags Bronze at Asian Wrestling Championships

Indian wrestlers Antim Panghal and Anshu Malik put up an impressive show at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan. Panghal secured the second spot, while Malik won a bronze medal in their respective weight categories.

In the semifinals, Panghal outclassed Aktenge Keunimjaeva of Uzbekistan with a score of 8-1, showcasing her skills and control over the mat. However, she faced a tough challenge in the final against the 2021 world champion, Akari Fujinami of Japan, who won the match 10-0 with technical superiority. Fujinami has remained unbeaten in her 118 matches across domestic and international competitions.

On the other hand, Anshu Malik, who won silver at the 2021 World Championships in her weight category, fought well but lost to Sae Nanjo of Japan with a score of 5-1 in the semifinals. Despite the setback, Malik’s dedication and hard work paid off as she clinched a bronze medal in the 68kg competition.
