Ayanna Williams made headlines for having the longest fingernails in the world, measuring 18 feet and 10.9 inches when she set the Guinness World Record in 2018. She hadn’t cut her nails for over 20 years before that, starting to grow them in the early 1990s. Over nearly three decades, her nails grew to an incredible 24 feet and 0.7 inches.

As a nail technician and artist from Texas, Williams aimed to set a record with her nails, which became famous for their extreme length. However, in 2022, she decided it was time for a change. She had her nails trimmed using an electric tool at a dermatology office in Fort Worth, Texas. This marked a significant moment for Williams, as she could finally enjoy simple tasks again, like putting on bed sheets, which had become challenging with her long nails.

Despite parting with her record-breaking nails, Williams remains positive and plans to grow them again, though not as long as before. Her trimmed nails will be preserved and displayed at the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum in Orlando, Florida, where they will continue to amaze visitors with her remarkable achievement.
