Renowned transgender figure Caitlyn Jenner, previously a vocal advocate for transgender rights, has stirred controversy by asserting that trans women are not “real women.” During an interview on the U.K. TV show The Dinosaur Hour with John Cleese, Jenner expressed her disagreement with the notion that “trans women are real women,” firmly stating her perspective. Despite having identified as a woman since coming out as transgender in 2015, living her life accordingly, and undergoing legal changes to her gender markers and identification documents, Jenner considers herself “a trans person” rather than a woman.

In the interview, Jenner went on to criticize President Joe Biden’s stance on women’s sports, accusing him of attempting to undermine the sector. She asserted that proposed rules supporting trans inclusion in school sports, backed by the Biden administration, would “kill women’s sports.” Additionally, she attributed this effort to liberal philanthropist George Soros, a frequent target of right-wing criticism.

It’s worth noting that the proposed rule by the Biden administration allows for certain exceptions and has faced criticism from supporters of transgender rights. Scientifically, mainstream studies do not support the claim that trans women possess a competitive advantage over cisgender women in sports.

Jenner also denounced what she referred to as “radical gender ideology” and shared personal experiences of gender dysphoria from a young age. She expressed concern that discussions about gender identity in her youth might have negatively impacted her life.

Among her other statements were praises for former President Donald Trump, allegations that Biden has been consistently on the wrong side of various issues, and claims about the U.S. facing an influx of illegal migrants.

This recent shift in Jenner’s stance has sparked debates and discussions within the LGBTQ+ community and beyond, as her views appear to conflict with her earlier advocacy for transgender rights.
