Namita, an accomplished canoeist, has alleged that she faced mental harassment and disrespect during her 13-year tenure with the Madhya Pradesh Academy. Despite her hard work and dedication, she claims to have suffered from depression and anxiety due to the Academy’s mistreatment.

Namita has accused the Academy of neglecting her and other players’ basic needs, including medical care, nutritious food, and proper training facilities. She has also alleged that the Academy failed to provide her with adequate financial support, despite her numerous achievements in canoeing. According to Namita, the Academy’s biased treatment towards her was due to her gender and her non-affiliation with influential political figures. She claims that male players received preferential treatment and that her requests for better facilities and support were often ignored.

Namita’s allegations of mental harassment and disrespect highlight the challenges faced by female athletes in India. Many women athletes have spoken up about the unequal treatment they receive compared to their male counterparts, including inadequate funding, lack of facilities, and discrimination based on gender.
