“Charlie Chopra & The Mystery of Solang Valley” is a captivating detective story set in Solang Valley, featuring a séance and a prediction of death. When a murder occurs, Charlie Chopra, played brilliantly by Wamiqa Gabbi, steps in as an aspiring sleuth to unravel the mystery. The series, based on Agatha Christie’s novel ‘The Sittaford Mystery,’ offers an engaging whodunit experience with a touch of humor.

The screenplay by Vishal Bhardwaj, Anjum Rajabali, and Jyotsna Hariharan keeps viewers engaged by introducing characters with motives for the murder. The dialogues are sharp, adding to the mystery and humor. Vishal Bhardwaj’s direction is commendable, creating an atmosphere enriched by snowy landscapes and a light-hearted tone.

While the show excels in many aspects, the abundance of characters can be confusing, making it challenging to remember their connections. Some twists are predictable, and the finale’s pacing could be improved. Additionally, the show bears similarities to recent films with similar settings and styles.

Wamiqa Gabbi steals the show with her exceptional performance, showcasing her acting prowess and impeccable comic timing. The supporting cast, including Priyanshu Painyuli, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Neena Gupta, delivers commendable performances.

Despite some minor flaws, “Charlie Chopra & The Mystery of Solang Valley” is an entertaining and intriguing whodunit, with Wamiqa Gabbi’s outstanding performance as its standout feature.
