Daddy issues
A little girl comes running.
Her fingers strangling her ears.
Her father is out there screaming,
Fulfilling her deepest fears.
A young boy’s been blank
Blocking out what they say.
Still slowly recovering,
From his dad on the run-away.
A precious child is breaking
Stringing their pieces together.
While their dad is out for pleasing,
around a new ‘Heather’
An innocent kid being labeled,
for an absent father on a hide,
Cause ‘Daddy Issues’ is an insult to children
Even though a fully grown man failed to provide.
