Delhi Govt Approves 39.16 Cr Road-Strengthening for Safe & World-Class Roads
Delhi’s Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Atishi has approved two important road-strengthening projects worth Rs 39.16 crore in the North and South Delhi road divisions.
These projects aim to give a facelift to the roads from Andheria More to NH-48 on Mehrauli-Mahipalpur Road and Martyr Captain Vikram Batra Flyover to Burari Flyover on Outer Ring Road.
Atishi shared that the Delhi government is working in a mission mode to make the roads of Delhi beautiful, safe, and world-class, under the vision of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. She emphasized that the government is getting the assessment of roads done by experts and preparing a blueprint for them to ensure compliance with all safety and security standards during maintenance work.
The Kejriwal government is committed to providing a pleasant commuting experience to the people of Delhi and is using advanced technologies to strengthen and beautify city roads, she added. The government is also getting roads assessed by experts to ensure better quality roads across Delhi. Atishi directed officials to follow global standards of street design and complete the work within the stipulated time to avoid further inconvenience to commuters. The PWD periodically performs road maintenance work to ensure that people do not face any problems with regard to noise pollution and traffic congestion.
With this project, not only will the strength of the roads be taken care of, but also good quality road marking will be done, adhering to all standards on these roads. The assessment for these roads was conducted by IIT Roorkee.
The Delhi government’s commitment to ensuring world-class roads in the National Capital is a commendable effort toward improving the city’s infrastructure. This project will not only make commuting easier for women but also improve their safety on the roads.
