Sanjukta Parashar, an IPS Officer hailing from Assam, has gained a fearsome reputation among terrorists due to her exceptional leadership and bravery. Renowned for leading 16 major operations, she has become a symbol of courage and dedication in the field of law enforcement.
Born and raised in Assam, Sanjukta Parashar completed her schooling in her home state before pursuing a degree in Political Science from Indraprastha College, Delhi. She furthered her education by obtaining a postgraduate degree in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, followed by an MPhil and a PhD in US Foreign Policy.
In 2006, Parashar secured the 85th rank in the All India Civil Services Examination and joined the prestigious Indian Police Service. Choosing the Meghalaya-Assam cadre, she embarked on a career dedicated to upholding law and order.
During her initial posting as an Assistant Commandant in Makum, Assam, Parashar quickly gained recognition for her fearless approach. She was later assigned the task of controlling the violence between Bodos and Bangladeshis in Udalgiri.
As the Superintendent of Police in Sonitpur district, Parashar fearlessly led a team of CRPF jawans in confrontations with Bodo militants. Viral photos of her wielding an AK-47 rifle alongside her team showcased her unwavering spirit and exceptional leadership skills.
With each successful operation, Sanjukta Parashar’s reputation as an indomitable officer grew stronger. In just 15 months, she eliminated 16 militants, apprehended 64 others, and seized a significant cache of arms and ammunition.
