Free Learning Resources for Small Business Owners

Large companies are sharing their knowledge with small business owners through free courses and resources. The 2023 Champions of Small Business list recognizes big businesses that offer grants, accelerators, and helpful free resources to entrepreneurs.

Amazon: Small Business Academy Amazon started this program in 2019 to help early-stage entrepreneurs and small business owners. They get tools, resources, and chances to network. The program has three parts: “Start,” “Build,” and “Launch.”

AT&T: Small Business Resources AT&T’s website has free webinars and educational series from business mentors like Barbara Corcoran. They also give out free “playbooks” on topics like going virtual or cybersecurity. They offer special phone and Wi-Fi deals for small businesses.

Bank of America: Small Business Resources Bank of America shares insights and resources for small business owners about money management, funding, improving credit, planning for retirement, and following industry trends. They also help with HR, customer relations, and small business strategies.

Cisco: Cisco Small Business Resource Center Cisco’s site has news and tech advice for small and medium-sized businesses. They focus on security, networking, and collaboration.

FreshBooks: FreshBooks FreshBooks is an accounting platform for different industries and company sizes. Their blog gives tips and insights for small business owners at different growth stages.

Google: Google for Startups Google for Startups offers guides, insights, mentorship, and funding opportunities for small businesses. They have programs like Founders Academy, Accelerator, Cloud Program, Black Founders Fund, and Latino Founders Fund.

Mailchimp: Mailchimp Marketing Library Mailchimp shares information for small businesses to learn about starting, running, and marketing their ventures.

Shopify: Shopify Blog Shopify offers tools and a blog with advice for aspiring entrepreneurs. They cover topics like sourcing products, marketing, customer management, and more. They’ve also pledged $130 million to support the 1 Million Black Businesses initiative.

Verizon: Small Business Digital Ready Verizon’s platform offers free courses, materials, live events, mentorship, networking, and grants for small business owners. They help with various aspects of small businesses, focusing on diverse and under-resourced owners.

Visa: Visa Small Business Hub Visa’s landing page provides small businesses with trending industry topics, tools, and resources. These help with managing finances, growing audiences, using analytics, improving online presence, and more.

Wells Fargo: Wells Fargo Small Business Resources Wells Fargo’s “Small Business Resources” page has articles about improving daily operations, securing financing, using credit wisely, reducing debt, networking, sales, and marketing.
