In a remarkable tale of passion and entrepreneurship, Nitya Ganapathy traded her 23-year corporate career for a venture that brings traditional Indian ghee-making to the forefront. With Nei Native, Nitya has not only disrupted the ghee market but also created a brand that celebrates authenticity and quality.

The Spark: A Family Recipe

It all began with a casual conversation between Nitya, her mother, and her aunt. The aunt’s request for homemade ghee to gift at her granddaughter’s birthday sparked an idea. Nitya’s secret family recipe, passed down through generations, became the foundation of Nei Native’s traditional ghee.

The Leap of Faith: From Corporate to Entrepreneur

Nitya took a bold step, leaving behind her corporate career to focus on Nei Native’s ghee-making business. With an initial investment, she began producing ghee using the traditional bilona method. This labor-intensive process involves boiling milk, setting curd, hand-churning butter, and finally, making ghee.

Nei Native’s USP lies in its homemade, handcrafted A2 cultured ghee, boasting a superior aroma, granular texture, and nutty flavor. The brand’s commitment to quality and authenticity has resonated with customers.

Scaling Up: From Home Kitchen to Commercial Production

To test the market, Nitya conducted an elaborate sampling and price discovery activity, reaching out to over 1,000 individual contacts. The response was overwhelming, and Nei Native soon expanded its operations to a farm space in Vikramgad

Nei Native is set to launch new products, including Gir Forest Honey, Cold Pressed Coconut Oil, A2 Peanut Butter, and jaggery powder.

Nei Native is a true family enterprise, with Nitya’s mother, father, and daughter all contributing to the business.

Nitya’s journey with Nei Native serves as a testament to the power of passion, hard work, and a commitment to quality. As Nei Native continues to grow, it’s clear that this entrepreneurial venture is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
