From Humble Beginnings to AIIMS Success: Charul’s Inspiring NEET Triumph
In a remarkable display of determination and resilience, Charul Honariya, the daughter of a hardworking labourer from Kartarpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district, defied all odds to secure the top position in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on her second attempt. Her inspiring journey led her to a coveted seat at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Charul’s family, supported by her small-scale farmer father who also toiled as a labourer on other farms, faced the constant struggle of making ends meet. Their monthly income was a mere Rs 8000, and with a family of seven to support, the financial challenges were daunting. However, this did not deter 18-year-old Charul from pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a doctor.
Overcoming the hurdle of being weak in English, Charul began honing her language skills from Class 6 onwards. Her unwavering dedication to education led her to start preparing for the NEET examination while in Class 10. Given their financial constraints, Charul sought a scholarship that enabled her to join a renowned NEET coaching center.
With relentless preparation spanning two years, Charul Honariya achieved a remarkable 93 percent in her Class 12 examinations, making her one of the top performers in her district. However, her ultimate goal was to crack NEET and gain admission to AIIMS New Delhi, India’s premier medical institution.
In 2019, Charul attempted the NEET exam but was dissatisfied with her score. Undeterred, she made a second attempt in 2020, where her hard work paid off. Scoring an impressive 680 out of 720, Charul secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 631, granting her entry into AIIMS New Delhi, fulfilling her dream of becoming a doctor.
