Dear Readers,

Let’s get real for a moment. We live in a world where, despite all our progress, women still face outdated stereotypes and blatant misogyny. Here we are in 2024, yet we are still dealing with a set of views that belittle our independence and strength. To me, this isn’t just frustrating—it’s a call to action.

Meryl Streep’s UNGA speech hit hard: “A squirrel has more rights than a girl in Afghanistan today….” These words cut deep, underscoring the urgent need to uplift and support women globally.

This call to action is especially relevant as we move into October, a month that brings two crucial observances. On October 11, we celebrate International Day of the Girl Child, focusing on empowering girls to dream big and achieve their full potential. Then, on October 17, we observe International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, highlighting the need to address poverty, which disproportionately affects women and girls.

In this issue, we continue this mission by celebrating the experiences and achievements that help women grow into their best selves. We talk about all that matters to women to lead a wholesome, progressive life.

These pieces are not just for inspiration—they are a call to action. It’s time to act on these takeaways. Come forward and share your stories and back initiatives that challenge the status quo and uplift women and girls globally.

Together forward!
