The Harris campaign has launched two new ads targeting Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) voters in key battleground states. These ads highlight Vice President Kamala Harris’s work to expand healthcare protections and combat anti-Asian hate, contrasting it with former President Donald Trump’s record. Part of a broader $90 million ad campaign, these spots will run in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin on television and digital platforms during the last three weeks of August.

At the Democratic National Convention, former First Lady Michelle Obama drew parallels between her mother, Marian Robinson, and Harris’s mother, Shyamala Gopalan. She emphasized the values of justice, integrity, and hard work instilled in them. Former President Barack Obama also celebrated these common values, highlighting their widespread appeal across different American backgrounds.

Former President Bill Clinton is set to energize the convention with a speech focusing on Harris’s life story and her role as the Democratic nominee. He will mix his characteristic “Clintonisms” with critiques of former President Trump, underscoring the election’s significance.

The convention will feature performances from Pink and John Legend. Pink is scheduled to perform on Thursday night before Harris’s keynote speech, while John Legend will perform before Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s remarks, adding excitement to the event.

Meanwhile, former President Trump, speaking on “The Hugh Hewitt Show,” criticized the convention for not addressing crime in Chicago, despite frequently mentioning him. He also discussed the upcoming debate with Harris and criticized Democrats for their stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict, claiming they hinder Israel’s efforts.

Former Trump aide and “Apprentice” star Omarosa Manigault Newman attended the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. She is known for her controversial departure from the White House in 2017. Newman supported Vice President Kamala Harris’ nomination at the event.
