The day began with Aditi Swami Gopichand securing a Bronze in the Women’s Compound 50m archery event, while Jyothi Vennam clinched Gold in the same event. In the Men’s Compound archery finals, Ojas Deotale and Abhishek Varma secured a Gold-Silver finish.
India’s quest for 100 medals was fulfilled by the Indian Women’s Kabaddi Team, which secured a Gold medal in a thrilling final against Chinese Taipei. History was made in badminton as well, with Satwik-Chirag duo clinching India’s first-ever gold in the Men’s Doubles by defeating South Korea.
The Men’s Kabaddi team followed suit, securing another Gold for India by defeating Iran in a fiercely contested final. Meanwhile, the Indian Women’s Hockey team added to the medal rush by clinching Bronze after defeating Japan in a closely-fought match.
With these victories, India medal tally at the Asian Games now stands at an impressive 104 medals, including 28 Golds, 35 Silvers, and 41 Bronzes, placing them fourth in the overall medals tally. India’s athletes continue to shine, bringing glory to the nation on the Asian Games stage.
