Indian Female Athletes to Watch at Paris Olympics

Indian women athletes are getting ready to shine at the Paris Olympics. Let’s take a closer look at some of these amazing athletes:

  • Tulika Maan: She’s a judo champion from Delhi. Tulika earned her spot in the Olympics by winning the +78kg category. She’s already shown her skill by winning a silver at the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and beating an Olympic champion at the Asian Judo Championships in 2024.
  • Aditi Ashok: Aditi is a golfer and she’s representing India for the third time at the Olympics. She’s really good, ranked 46th in the world. Aditi almost got a medal at the last Olympics in Tokyo and even won a bronze at the Asian Games in 2023.
  • Nethra Kumanan: She’s a sailor from Chennai. Nethra made history by becoming the first Indian woman to qualify for sailing at the Olympics. She did it through the Emerging Nations Program. She was already in the last Olympics in Tokyo and did pretty well, finishing fifth.
  • Nikhat Zareen: Nikhat is a boxer and she’s really good too. She got her spot at the Paris Olympics after working hard for years. Nikhat has won two World Championships and a bronze at the Asian Games. She really wants to be the first Indian woman boxer to win gold or silver at the Olympics.
  • Parul Chaudhary: Parul is a steeplechase runner and she’s breaking records. She got into the Paris Olympics after running really fast at the World Athletics Championships in Hungary. Parul’s time was even better than the one set by Lalita Babar in the last Olympics. She’s super determined and wants to do even better this time.
