The UPSC Civil Services Exam is considered one of the toughest exams in India. Every year, lakhs of aspirants apply for the UPSC CSE to become IAS, IPS, and IFS officers. However, only a few candidates are able to clear this high-profile exam through hard work and dedication.
IPS Divya Tanwar is one such inspiring figure who cleared the UPSC exam on her first attempt at the age of 21, with an All India Rank (AIR) of 438 in 2021. She hails from Mahendragarh, Haryana, and initially studied at government schools in her hometown. Later, she got selected for Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mahendragarh, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Science (B.Sc).
Despite facing economic hardships after the death of her father in 2011, Divya remained focused on her studies. Her mother, Babita Tanwar, always supported her and played a crucial role in her success. Divya did not join any coaching and cleared the UPSC prelims exam on her own. She then took help from various online sources, including test series, for her UPSC main exam preparation. Divya also joined a UPSC coaching mentorship program after clearing her prelims.
Divya’s success story is an inspiration to young women across India, who face numerous challenges while pursuing their dreams. Her mother’s unwavering support and Divya’s determination to achieve her goals are a testament to the fact that hard work and dedication can overcome any obstacle.
