The White House is reportedly taking steps to revamp Vice President Kamala Harris‘ image before the 2024 presidential election. The administration is concerned that Harris’ poor approval ratings may harm President Biden’s campaign. The move follows criticisms from Fox News contributor and Washington Times opinion editor, Charlie Hurt, who described Harris as a “drag on the ticket.” He argued that the White House should have considered competency, not just identity politics, when selecting Harris.
This isn’t the first time that Harris’ image has been revamped. Aides were reportedly preparing to relaunch her image in January after the 2022 midterm elections. However, Judge Jeanine Pirro, co-host of “The Five,” criticized Harris, saying she hadn’t given a “good” or “forceful” speech. Pirro also expressed confusion about why there is so much power between President Biden and Harris, given that the Democrats don’t want Joe to run, and they don’t like Harris either.
Harris’ unpopularity is a cause for concern for the Biden-Harris administration as they officially announce their re-election campaign. The campaign promises to “finish the job” if elected for a second term. Harris’ poll numbers have remained stagnant in the high 30s.
