In a recent appearance on Fox News’ “America Reports,” former U.N. Secretary Nikki Haley suggested that Disney move its operations from Florida to South Carolina, a state she once governed. This followed a clash between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Disney over the company’s alleged “woke” politicking. In response, the super PAC supporting DeSantis for president in 2024, Never Back Down, released a video on social media that attempted to link Haley to the highly scrutinized side of the company.

The video featured clips of Disney “officials” touting the company’s use of “LGBTQIA characters” and attempting to target Gen Z and Millennials. It also included a clip of a drag queen discussing Disney-inspired books. The video ended with a clip of Haley saying she would “welcome” Disney to South Carolina, which drew criticism from conservatives on social media.

DeSantis has clashed with Disney over its response to the state’s Parental Rights in Education law, which critics have dubbed “Don’t Say Gay.” Disney has filed a lawsuit against DeSantis, claiming “government retaliation” and accusing him of trying to stop the company from working around its oversight of its Lake Buena Vista, Fla. property.
