In January 2020, Queen Elizabeth II led a meeting attended by Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry, famously known as the Sandringham Summit, to discuss the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s exit from royal duties. However, the meeting was conducted with utmost secrecy to avoid any leaks to the press.

According to a new book, ‘Our King,’ by royal author Robert Jobson, the room was swept for bugs to ensure that no details of the meeting would be leaked to the media. Queen Elizabeth was concerned that their conversation might be recorded secretly and released to the press.

The Duke of Sussex represented his wife, Meghan Markle, who was not allowed to attend the meeting or even join via video as the Queen feared the connection might be hacked, and their conversation could be compromised.

Furthermore, the book claimed that Kate Middleton found it challenging to walk alongside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during a public walkabout. The joint walkabout was reportedly one of the hardest things she had ever done, and she later admitted to a senior royal that there was ill feeling between the two couples.
