Radhika Gupta Shuts Down Appearance Troll
Radhika Gupta stood up to a troll who mocked her eye squint on social media. After celebrating the women scientists of ISRO who proudly wear sarees to work, Gupta received negative comments about her appearance. She used the incident to highlight the judgment women often face based on their looks. Gupta shared her perspective, stating, “Women are often judged for their looks. Well, here is just one more example… someone used my squint in the eye to disagree with my views.” She added, “Thank you for proving my point. And I own my squint and still love the way I look, by the way!”
Radhika Gupta’s original post aimed to challenge stereotypes associated with women in sarees. She emphasized that wearing a saree doesn’t limit a woman but rather empowers her. Gupta wrote, “For years, we believed a woman in a sari was a ‘behenji’ limited to the kitchen. When in fact there is no woman more modern than her. She can run India’s largest banks, create billion-dollar companies, run the country’s finances… and yes land us on the moon. Never underestimate the power of a nari in a sari!”
Gupta also shared her personal journey, revealing that she faced challenges due to her eye squint since childhood. Despite the difficulties, she defied the odds and became one of the youngest CEOs at the age of 33.
Her response to the troll’s comments garnered support and praise from many who admired her resilience and self-confidence.
