The boxing world eagerly awaits Seniesa Estrada’s return to the ring, but it seems that her next fight will be delayed for a week. According to ESPN sources, the WBC and WBA strawweight champion’s upcoming bout has been moved to July 29th, with Las Vegas as the possible location.

Estrada’s return to the ring was originally scheduled for July 22nd, but the new date gives her an additional week to prepare for her second fight of 2023. She is expected to headline the card, but her opponent for the bout is still undetermined.

While Yokasta Valle holds the IBF and WBO titles in the same weight class as Estrada, the two have not yet been set to face each other in the ring. If Valle is not the opponent, Estrada has expressed openness to fighting in other weight divisions, having previously been a champion at junior flyweight and an interim flyweight champion.

If Las Vegas ends up being the destination for the fight, it will be the second time in three fights that Estrada has fought in the city. In November of 2022, she began her time with Top Rank, her current promoter, with a unanimous decision victory over Jazmin Gala Villarino in Las Vegas.

Estrada, who has a record of 24-0 with 9 KOs, became a unified strawweight champion in March of this year when she defeated Tina Rupprecht by unanimous decision. ESPN ranks her as the No. 8 pound-for-pound fighter and top-ranked strawweight in the world.
