Acne, a common skin condition, occurs due to clogged hair follicles filled with oil and dead skin cells, leading to various blemishes like pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. Several factors can contribute to acne, including genetics, diet, hormonal changes, stress, pollution, and excessive oil production. Renowned beauty expert Shahnaz Husain shares her effective home remedies for managing mild to moderate acne and achieving clear, healthy, and radiant skin.

Shahnaz Husain’s Top Skin Care Hacks:

Facial Scrub: Gently use a facial scrub on areas with clogged pores and blackheads. Avoid applying the scrub to active acne, pimples, or rashes. Never pick or pinch blackheads and acne.

Hair and Scalp Hygiene: Maintain clean hair and scalp, especially if you have an oily scalp, as it can contribute to acne.

Hair Management: Keep your hair away from your face while sleeping. Wash pillow covers and towels in warm soapy water with added antiseptic lotion.

Gentle Cleansing: Avoid harsh or abrasive soaps, as they can irritate the skin and worsen acne.

Astringent Toner: After cleansing, use an astringent toner to remove oil and sweat deposits. Wipe your face with it using cotton wool. A rose-based skin toner is also a good option.

Green Tea Solution: Green tea has an astringent effect. Soak green tea leaves or a tea bag in hot water for half an hour, cool, and strain. Apply the liquid on the skin.

Sandalwood Paste: Apply sandalwood paste on acne to reduce the condition. Alternatively, create a face pack with cinnamon powder, methi seed powder, lemon juice, and honey. Apply the sticky paste for an hour. Another remedy involves mixing 2 drops of Tea Tree Oil with water or rose water to effectively treat acne or skin rashes.

Healthy Diet: Consume a healthy diet and stay hydrated by drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Include fresh fruits, raw salads, sprouts, green leafy vegetables, whole grains, curd, and soyabean in your diet.
