Simone Biles earned her spot at the Paris Olympics with an amazing performance at the US gymnastics trials. She impressed everyone with her floor routine and finished first overall.

Over two days, Biles scored a total of 117.225 points, securing a place on the five-member team going to Paris. This comeback is special for Biles, who had struggled at the Tokyo Games due to “twisties,” which made her lose her sense of direction while performing.

“After Tokyo, I knew I wasn’t finished,” Biles said confidently. “I knew I would come back.”

Since returning to competitions last August, Biles has shown she’s still one of the best in gymnastics, winning another world championship and recently taking her ninth national title.

Biles started the trials with a difficult vault called Yurchenko double pike, scoring 15.50 points despite a small stumble. She also recovered well after a tough balance beam routine on the first day, scoring 13.900 even after a fall.

Joining Biles on the Paris team are Suni Lee, who won gold in the Tokyo Olympics, Jordan Chiles, part of the silver medal-winning team in Tokyo, Jade Carey, who won gold in the floor exercise, and 16-year-old Hezly Rivera, who did well in the balance beam and vault.

Lee, competing in her home state of Minnesota, was emotional as she reflected on her journey back to the Olympics after dealing with serious kidney problems. Chiles dedicated her performance to loved ones she lost last year.

Everyone will be watching Biles in Paris, expecting her to shine once again after winning four gold medals in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

“I love these girls, and I’m going to take care of them in Paris,” Biles said, looking forward to the upcoming Olympics.
