This Woman Entrepreneur’s Health and Wellness Start-up is Bringing Nutritional Supplements to on-the-go Millennials
New Delhi-based D2C health and wellness startup Welly targets everyday lifestyle issues, including sleep, beauty, and immunity, with its 100% vegan vitamin gummies.
Delhi based Urvi Raghbeer’s aim was to bring health and happiness together. Instead of having a protein shake or vitamin pill daily, she wanted to bring the concept of health into an everyday on-the-go style. She wanted to make health supplements that are palpable to the pallet and easy to consume. That is how she started Welly in February 2021.
Welly is a health care brand that offers three products — suitable for adults and backed by science — vitamin gummies for restful sleep, immunity boost, and healthy hair, skin, and nails.
“We work with food technologists and formularies to create proprietary formulations. Our products have gone through multiple rounds of testing. All formulations are clean, and for the conscious consumer. Our products are 100% vegan and gluten-free, with no artificial colours, flavours, added sugar, preservatives, and gelatine,” Urvi explains.
With a special focus on sustainability, Welly ensures its products and packaging are 100% carbon neutral. The direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand sells its products through its website and various marketplaces, including Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, Pharmeasy, Purplle, Woovly, etc. The startup uses logistics aggregators to deliver its orders pan-India.
Even though there are other competitors in the market, Welly stands tall with its USP of brand positioning and products. In the future, Welly aims to expand its product offerings beyond gummies to other formats within the broad category of the nutraceuticals market.
Starting with an initial investment of Rs 25 lakh, the start-up generated an annual run-rate of Rs 2 crore in the Financial Year 2022.
