Turkish Boxer rebuilds spirit at Delhi World Championships after surviving earthquake
Turkish boxer Rabia Topuz, who survived a deadly earthquake in her country, is
now rebuilding her spirit by participating in the World Championships being
held in Delhi. Topuz was in her hometown of Izmir when a massive earthquake
struck, killing hundreds and leaving thousands injured. Despite the trauma she
experienced, Topuz found solace in boxing and trained even harder to compete
at the championships.
Topuz has been fighting in the 64 kg category and has already advanced to the quarterfinals. She credits her coach and teammates for helping her overcome the trauma of the earthquake and focus on her training. Topuz says that boxing has given her the strength to fight back and not give up in the face of adversity.
Topuz is not the only Turkish athlete to participate in the World Championships in Delhi. Several other athletes, including boxers and wrestlers, have also come to compete at the event. The Turkish team has been performing well so far, with many of their athletes advancing to the later stages of the tournament.
