The Institute of Women’s Studies at the University of Lucknow organized a program on ‘Women Empowerment and Career Opportunities in Gender Studies‘ at DAV PG College on April 12. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of women’s empowerment and the career opportunities available to students in the field of gender studies.
The program included a street play by Adamya, highlighting the challenges faced by women in society and the significance of education in breaking down gender stereotypes. Prof Madhurima Lal, director of Sanskritiki, University of Lucknow, emphasized that women’s empowerment is not only a moral issue but also an existential issue for the entire civilization.
Manini Srivastav, the coordinator of the Institute of Women’s Studies, informed students about various courses offered by the institute, including M.A. in Women’s Studies and a Diploma course in Garbha Sanskar. These courses not only provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to secure a job but also provide them with a deeper understanding of gender issues and their impact on society.
The Institute also highlighted courses with assured placement. The event proved to be an excellent opportunity for students to gain insight into the importance of women’s empowerment and to explore the available career opportunities in gender studies.
