Young Tennis Prodigy Riya Wins AITA’s Female Player of the Year

Riya, an eight-year-old tennis prodigy from Oakridge International School, Mohali, has made history by becoming the youngest female player to win the All India Tennis Association’s (AITA) Player of the Year award. Starting at the young age of four, Riya quickly fell in love with the sport and began participating in regional competitions when she was only six. With her exceptional consistency in tournaments, she has earned recognition from the AITA and secured a spot in the India Book of Records.

Recently, Riya broke records by becoming the youngest Indian to compete in the AITA CS7 U12 championships. She has also won the Khedo Punjab Tennis Tournament (U-14) and received a gold medal and cash prize of INR 10,000/-. Her accomplishments have been widely celebrated, and Riya has expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of her family, coaches, and Oakridge International School.
