The Manipur Women of Substance Awards 2023 were recently held to honor 21 women achievers who have made significant contributions to their communities and society as a whole. The awards were organized by the Manipur-based NGO “Ema Leima Lup” in collaboration with the state government.

The awards were presented to women from various fields, including education, sports, entrepreneurship, social work, and the arts. Among the awardees were Olympian Mirabai Chanu, who won a silver medal in weightlifting at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and Nirmala Thounaojam, who founded an organization to help people with disabilities.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including the Governor of Manipur, the Chief Minister, and other government officials. The awards were presented in recognition of the awardees’ exceptional achievements and their efforts to make a positive impact on their communities.

The awardees serve as role models for young women and girls, showing them that they too can achieve great things and make a positive impact on the world around them. Their achievements also help to break down barriers and challenge stereotypes about women’s abilities and potential.

The Manipur Women of Substance Awards are an important initiative to recognize and celebrate the achievements of women in various fields. They help to inspire and empower women to pursue their dreams and make a difference in their communities.
