Suranya Aiyar, the lawyer who fought Sagarika Chakraborty’s case against the Norwegian Child Welfare Services, made a powerful statement by delivering a mirror and bangles to the Norwegian Embassy. The emotional saga of Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway, based on Sagarika’s real-life story, has been receiving a lot of attention lately. The film portrays the struggles of a Bengali immigrant mother who fights to bring her children back from the Norwegian authorities.

In a recent social media post, Suranya Aiyar expressed her thoughts on the matter, “We have defeated him and he has tried to hit back in the most cowardly way by maligning a lady, a mother, whom he does not even know. I hope he will also show the mirror to Barnevernet!”

It is heartening to see women like Suranya Aiyar take a strong stance against injustice and fight for what is right.

Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway has received critical acclaim and appreciation from Bollywood celebrities as well. Shah Rukh Khan, who has co-starred with Rani Mukerji in several movies, tweeted, “My Rani shines in the central role as only a Queen can. Director Ashima shows a human struggle with such sensitivity. A must-watch.” Veteran actor Rekha also praised the film, saying, “This film is for the world to see what ‘Mother India’ is all about!”
