Kruthika Kumaran: From Solving a Personal Challenge to Building a Successful Business Empire
Kruthika Kumaran’s Vilvah is a true inspiration for women entrepreneurs. The Coimbatore-based businesswoman’s determination and hard work have turned her personal challenge into a thriving business empire. Kruthika Kumaran struggled with her daughter’s skin problem and created her line of natural and organic personal care products under the brand name Vilvah.
Starting with an initial investment of Rs 8000-Rs 10,000 and operating from her home kitchen, Vilvah now has a turnover of Rs 29 crore. The brand offers a range of 70 distinct skincare and hair care products and continues to expand its reach with its website, e-commerce platforms, and two physical stores in Chennai and Coimbatore.
Kruthika’s success is the result of her passion for creating organic and natural products, which she learned to make by watching videos on YouTube and pursuing a two-month-long diploma course in cosmetology to enhance her knowledge.
Kruthika Kumaran’s journey from being a housewife to a successful entrepreneur is truly inspiring. After completing her engineering, she married Tamil Kumaran at the age of 21 and became a housewife. She started her business in March 2017, and her husband Tamil later joined to work with her, focusing on finance and business management, while Kruthika Kumaran oversaw the production side.
Vilvah began as a proprietorship and was registered as a private limited company in 2020. It achieved Rs 1 crore in turnover during its first year and reached Rs 29 crore in the current year.
