Indian badminton star PV Sindhu stormed into the final of the Madrid Spain Masters Super 300 tournament on Saturday, April 1, after a sensational comeback win against Yeo Jia Min of Singapore. In a tough semi-final, Sindhu faced as many as five-game points as Jia Min took a commanding lead of 20-15. However, the two-time Olympic medalist refused to give up and forced an incredible comeback to save another game point and take the opening game 24-22. The momentum carried into the second game, as Sindhu took a commanding lead and had two match points. Jia Min fought back and saved the match points, but Sindhu managed to hold on for a hard-fought 24-22, 22-20 victory. This marks Sindhu’s first final appearance on the BWF tour since the Singapore Open in July, 2019, as she had been struggling with a left-foot stress fracture for over five months. She will now face Gregoria Mariska of Indonesia in the final. Sindhu’s incredible display of resilience and determination is an inspiration to all women athletes and serves as a reminder that even in the face of adversity, hard work and perseverance can lead to triumph.
