Meta Hosts Digital Safety Summit in Delhi to Empower Women and Youth

Social media giant Meta recently held a Digital Suraksha Summit in the Indian capital to promote the safety and security of women and youth on its platforms. Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani, Meta Global representatives, and India’s Head for Safety and Policy were among the attendees.

During the event, Irani suggested that digital safety programs should also be organized in rural areas to ensure the safety of women and youth. She also urged the Meta team to actively pursue child safety issues through its app and helpline number.

Meta has been implementing several initiatives and tools to provide a safe online experience for families and teenagers. Antigone Davis, Vice President, Global Head of Safety at Meta, emphasized that the company is committed to safeguarding women and teens, not just on its platform, but online in general.

To encourage young people to express their views for the future, Meta has partnered with the Ministry of Women and Child Development to launch a campaign. The company is committed to driving digital inclusion in India and providing a platform that empowers and enables women and teens.
