The Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team will create history by playing their first-ever bilateral series against Nepal in Pokhara and Kathmandu from April 25 to April 30. The five T20s are being organized by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled to uplift women players in the game.

The 17-member team, selected from 10 different states in India, will be captained by Sushma Patel, a B3 category player. Indian Women’s Team Captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, is the Brand Ambassador for the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team. Kaur expressed her pride and happiness for the team and believed they would inspire many young girls who want to overcome their disabilities and play the sport at the highest level. G.K Mahantesh, President of CABI, expressed his belief that the tour would provide the team with great exposure and hoped to provide them with many more such tours in the future.

The tour is the first step towards making the game accessible to more women and encouraging them to take up the sport. The Women’s Bilateral T20 Cricket Series for the Blind 2023 will be inaugurated on April 25 at the Pokhara Cricket Ground, followed by the opening match. The Indian team is preparing to give their best and create history.
