Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai graced the Caring for Women Gala 2023 in New York, hosted by actress Salma Hayek. The star-studded event featured A-listers like Oprah Winfrey and businesswoman Natasha Poonawalla.

Malala opted for a modest yet elegant fashion choice, donning a classy satin black dress by Bottega Veneta with golden buttons. Her custom-made outfit included a hood, long sleeves, and a collared neck. She kept her makeup subtle, sporting light mascara and nude lipstick.

To complete her look, Malala accessorized with a large golden ring and a Bottega Veneta clutch, stealing the spotlight. What caught everyone’s attention was the price tag of this high-end fashion piece—a staggering $3,500 (approximately ₹2,90,000).

Described on the Bottega Veneta official website, the bag is a ”Minaudière clutch meticulously crafted from soft padded Intreccio leather with signature knot detail. This bag is eligible for a Certificate of Craft.”

Philanthropist Natasha Poonawalla also made a striking appearance at the event, wearing a head-turning strapless Schiaparelli gown. Natasha and Malala posed for photos together, adding to the glamour of the occasion.

Malala took to her Instagram to share some photos and express her gratitude for the foundation. She co-hosted the annual Caring for Women dinner by the Kering Foundation, which celebrated 15 years of vital work supporting women affected by violence. This year’s event raised funds for @MalalaFund’s initiatives in Afghanistan, focusing on girls’ education in challenging circumstances.

The Kering Foundation’s donation aims to help Afghan girls continue their education, especially when schools are closed, unsafe, or inaccessible. Despite the uncertain future for Afghan girls due to increased restrictions, Malala Fund collaborates with local organizations to provide alternative learning and digital lessons. The urgency of this work has never been more apparent.

The Caring for Women Gala hosted by the Kering Foundation saw the participation of notable figures from the industry, including Nicole Kidman, Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, and Leonardo DiCaprio. This year marked the foundation’s 15th anniversary, dedicated to ending violence against women.
