Tamil actress Oviya Helen, renowned for her candid interviews and social media presence, has sparked controversy with her recent statements on sex education and prostitution in India. In an interview with Galatta Pink, she expressed her bold opinions on these topics.

Oviya Helen, who gained fame through Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1, began by addressing rumors about her sexuality, stating unequivocally that she is not a lesbian. During the interview, Oviya stressed the importance of practical knowledge in understanding sex, highlighting that desires and sexual hormones are natural aspects of human life. She argued that if people had more access to sexual activities, they could learn about it more effectively than from theories or books. Legalizing prostitution, in her view, would not only educate people about sex but also satisfy their sexual desires, potentially leading to a decrease in sexual violence.

Oviya Helen’s career began with supporting roles, and she made her on-screen debut in the Malayalam film “Kangaroo” in 2007. Her Tamil debut followed with “Naalai Namathe” in 2009, but it was the movie “Kalavani” in 2010 that catapulted her to stardom. The film’s success led to a Kannada remake titled “Kirataka,” where Oviya reprised her role.
