Who is Bhavna Kesar? She is the first woman from Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, to become a judge
On April 5, Bhavna Kesar from Naushera, Jammu and Kashmir, became the first woman from Rajouri district to pass the judicial civil services exam. Her dad is a tailor, and she made her community proud by achieving this milestone. People in Naushera celebrated her success with flowers and confetti. Bhavna feels happy about her achievement but wishes more women could celebrate with her. She hopes her success encourages other women to pursue law.
Bhavna Kesar used to help her dad in his shop before studying law. She finished school in TMP School, Naushera, and then went to college in Punjab. She did a Bachelor of Arts in Law at Punjab University, Chandigarh, and later got a Master of Law degree. While working as a Reader at J&K High Court, she took the exam to become a judge. Bhavna wants to inspire more women to study law and follow their dreams.
With support from her family and her determination, Bhavna passed the exam and became the first female judge from Rajouri. Her family always encouraged her to study hard and chase her dreams, never treating her differently because she’s a woman. Bhavna advises women aspiring to study law to stay motivated and believe in themselves. She says you can find inspiration within yourself, making achieving your dreams easier.
