She Is My Hope
I still remember vividly,
The times I struggled in pain
And the hours I cried thinking she was slain.
I still remember vividly,
The thoughts that weren’t in my hold
And the moment FAILURE on the walls was written bold.
I still remember vividly,
The aspirations I had fueled with her
And the fear of losing them both together.
I still remember vividly,
The winter with its coldest night pitch black
And the warm morning after, that taught me to fight back
I still remember vividly,
The power I began to grope for within me
And the realization that then dawned upon me.
I still remember vividly,
The day she returned, the joy she gave and still gives.
HOPE is her name and now within me she always lives.
