Naukasana
Many poses in yoga are very effective and naukasana also known as Boat Pose is one among them. It comprises the two Sanskrit words ‘nauka’ which means ‘boat’ and ‘asana’ meaning ‘posture’. It is a posture in which our body takes the shape of a boat. This pose can be a little challenging for your kids to do. But once they ace it, it can be beneficial for their health.
It improves digestion, preventing the problem of constipation, acidity, and strong metabolism. It helps to remove excess belly fat and to develop abs muscles. It helps in regulating blood flow at sugar levels. It toughens the muscles of the neck, shoulder, and the legs. Maintains the function of the kidney, thyroid, and prostate glands. It helps to keep your mind calm, peaceful, and placid.
Steps:
- Sit on the mat with your legs fully extended.
- Bend your knees and lie on your back with your feet together and arms beside your body.
- Lift your chest and feet off the ground.
- Stretch your arms toward your feet and raise both legs to a 45-degree angle.
- Arms parallel to the floor and your eyes, fingers, and toes should be in a straight line.
- Hold the position for a few seconds and keep breathing while maintaining the pose. As you exhale, slowly come back to the ground and relax.
- Repeat 3-4 times daily but should not overdo it.
Avoid these yoga steps for kids if they suffer from any chronic disease or spinal cord injuries.
