Rutaparna Panda is an Indian badminton player from Odisha. Let’s wish her a very happy birthday. 

Rutaparna Panda was born on 7 May 1999, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Her father used to play badminton as a hobby and this got Rutaparna and her younger sister Swetaparna interested in Badminton. 

Rutaparna was selected to be part of the Indian team for the 2018 Asian Games. Here, she and her partner Arathi Sara Sunil were defeated in the round of 32 by the Thai doubles team. In July 2018, she won the women’s doubles title at the All-India senior-ranking badminton tournament in Bengaluru. She currently trains at the Pullela Gopichand Academy, Hyderabad.

In 2021, Rutaparna Panda and Tanisha Crasto defeated India’s No.1 doubles pair Ashwini Ponappa and Sikki Reddy in the qualifiers for the Sudirman Cup and Thomas and Uber Cup.  

Rutaparna is the first female badminton player from Odisha to represent India at the Asian Games in badminton.
